Sometimes what God has given as a reality is a hard pill to swallow because you see others with supposedly better stuff, better opportunities, and better breaks than you have. Therefore we don’t live content with what He has given us at that particular time. Not being content robs happiness, peace and joy and it can be looked as greed. This leads us to become ensnared or even idolize those things that cause selfishness. It is a place where all your happiness and peace will vanish.
On the opposite side, contentment is satisfied with what you have. This does not say that we should not have goals, for example, losing weight, finding a better job aligning with your priorities. Go far what God has given your hands to do! While you are in the process, keep an even keel. Don’t chase after riches let it chase after you. Chase after righteousness; chase after the assignment that you suppose to be in. Contentment is becoming happy and satisfied with what you have in your hands at the time and making it work for the glory of God. Yes, we all would like more money, more fame, and more stuff but will that please you. I believe God is pleased when we used what we have in our hands.
Prayer – Father, I thank you that I will never suffer because of you being a good Father. I thank you are not withholding anything from me that is my purpose. I will be satisfied with what you are giving me in my needs. I don’t want to be ensnared in sin or idolizing things that will take me away from you and my purpose, in Jesus name, Amen.
