“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:9).”
Why don’t things that worked in the past work for me today? Why am I not moving forward in my life? Why does my life seem stagnant? How do I get off dead center?
These questions and others have many in a quandary. A new day brings about new answers. A different time brings about a different response. The answers on yesterday will not work today. We used to believe that a stable job was the answer. We used to believe that a stable life was the answer. What we need today is wisdom, not the wisdom of man or the government, but the wisdom of God. “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere (James 3:17)”. God’s thoughts and ways are far superior to ours and the government. He knows our ways and thoughts. God knows and sees all. He is omnipresent. He sees our future, our roadblocks, our obstacles, and our victories; God even sees our defeat before they come to pass.
We, as children of God, can ask for this wisdom and he promises to give it to us. “For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding (Proverbs 2:6)”. We have the opportunity to tap into the wisdom of God by the third person of the Trinity, God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables you to move from point A to point B when you have no idea on direction. Many do not believe that the Holy Spirit of God is active today. He is active. Let’s look at some references. “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you (John 16:7)”. Jesus promised us that when he left the world, he was sending the Holy Spirit of God to you. Now let’s understand, there are different names for the Holy Spirit of God; they are Holy Ghost, Comforter, and Spirit of truth to name a few. The Holy Spirit came to the believer to help them with their daily walk and give believers the power to testify of Christ. “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14 :26)”. ” But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8)”.
The Spirit of God is available to you today. The Holy Spirit speaks what he hears from God. “Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day (Psalm 25:5)”.
Prayer
Father, I receive your Holy Spirit. Your Spirit will lead me and guide me in all truths concerning me, my family, those around me, and my situations. I will listen and do what the Holy Spirit requires me to do. I thank you for the gift and that you did not leave me comfortless. In Jesus Christ name, Amen.
