I know that we are experiencing high unemployment, personal bankruptcies, and declining incomes in our economy. Most people are afraid that they will lose their jobs and for most of them, money has dried up for them. Money drying up is a larger problem that I cannot address at this time. Most of the television shows says to keep your money safe, invest it, and spend it on whatever you want. Personally, I think that we are missing one key ingredient that has been ignored. The ingredient is giving. Giving not only benefits the person but it benefits you. In Acts 20:35, it states it is more blessed to give than to receive. This means that in order to keep your personal economy moving along you must become a giver.
There is one specific area of giving that I want to touch on. The tithe is your catalyst for your personal finances. I know that most people don’t believe in the tithe or they may say it was used back then but one thing is true is that God honors His principles. If the Ten Commandments are valid today, so is the tithing principle.
There are two key points that tithing will do for you. Tithing guarantees that God will open the windows of heaven for you. God’s economy is your economy if you follow the principles. The windows of opportunities (blessings, favor, and peace) will remain open for you as long as you tithe. The second is that God will prevent your harvest from being eaten up by unexpected predators. While you are a tither, God will make sure that you have enough for your household and He will also ensure that your money is not taken before it’s time. Read it for yourself in Malachi 3:8-11. God works in covenant relationship and the covenant of the tithe will change your life forever.
For those who tithe, continue on. You will see the results or have seen the results. For those who have not, try it and watch how God will move in your behalf. God loves to bless His people who follow His principles.
