Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6)
God has a standard for us; the standard is excellence – nothing more or nothing less. He birthed us for a purpose in this world to bring about a change. The change is not for us. The change is for God’s purpose to be displayed in our daily walk to help others. Our work for God is not for man to see or to be judged by him. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10). A servant is someone who is yoked or tied to his master. As servant of Christ, we are yoked to God. He gives us the strength and power to do his work with excellence. I am referring to the work that allows you to be a productive member of society – your career and vocation. He gives us the necessary tools to be victorious.
We don’t need to worry about impressing others because we are not their servants, even though we may receive a check from them. Men will put conditions on us that we cannot meet. God will not put conditions on us; he will allow us to be creative to bring about change for others. God will love us for who we are and work with us right there. Men will require certain abilities, degrees, and certifications. God qualifies, ordains, and appoints us right in the midst of the battle – no prerequisites are required.
Who do you want as a master? Who would you prefer to work for? God sees imperfection and he uses that imperfection as a good work. He uses your imperfection to help others make it through the day. Our imperfection is used for the glory of God. Keep working, not for man but for God. He knows the good work that is going to happen. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)
